New comment: Alzheimer's disease, expectancy and pain modulation

Katja Wiech and Ulrike Bingel commented on a recent article by Mathieson et al (2023). This study examined placebo analgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia in patients with Alzheimer's disease. The commentary suggests that Alzheimer may impair the ability to modulate pain based on expectancy and explains what this means for future research.
